I’ve been de-mo’d

28 11 2008

Alas, my mo is no longer with us.

We had a rehearsal for my brothers wedding last night and for the sake of the happy couple, I turned up clean-shaven.

I am having a few mo-withdrawal symptons, but otherwise I am quite happy to have my baby-smooth face back.

Speaking of the wedding, as the best man I am required to give a speech. Any hot tips for a successful best man’s speech?

As you can see from the above photo – I look like a tool. Moreso in this month of Movember.

But even though it’s not a good look, it is a good cause.

I am raising awareness of and money for men’s health issues. The specific charities are the The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue.

If you are in a position to donate, please click here and help out these two worthy charities.

Gosh, I’m itchy.

Well it has been a while! Far too long, I apologise.

I’ve been very busy. Since my exam, I have been spending a lot of time on sermon preparation. I had the great privilege/daunting task of preaching both at SALT on Friday night and at 1045 church this morning.

The passage was Romans 8:18-27 (both talks) and I think it went OK. It was my first time preaching outside of youth group (same gospel, just a different audience!)

Outline is below. If it got recorded, I might link to the audio later on.

Thanks for those who came along. Appreciated.

Brisbane – debrief

6 11 2008

I can’t sleep so I thought I would take the opportunity to catch up on some long overdue posting…

We had a FABULOUS time in Brisbane the weekend before last. It was a pleasure to catch up with the Lovells and get a peek at their new lives in a new town. It was also a pleasure to give Isaac plenty of cuddles!

We also got to check out some of the sights of Brissy and surrounds.

  • Saturday we headed up to Nooosa to hit the beach (a bit too chilly to swim).
  • Sunday we joined the Lovells at Creek Rd Presbyterian Church which was great. We then hit up Wet’n’Wild Water park which was embarassingly sensational! The highlight was definitely the “Tornado”!
  • Monday we stayed in Brisbane and wandered around Southbank and Fortitude Valley. We also managed to make it to the two cafes I had my eye on.

Enjoy photo-love below. (NB – My great birthday present with a photo of me on the front! Also, how sweet are our parenting skills? I was the pram-master by Monday)

More photos on fb.

Thanks for a Lovelly weekend guys!
